Production process: material selection→mixing→canning→distillation→separation→refining→inspection→filling→sealing→packaging→finished product.

(1) Material selection: Distilled ginger oil can be directly selected from dried ginger powder as raw material, or dried ginger can be used as raw material after being crushed and sieved, and can also be directly used as raw material after crushing with fresh ginger. No matter which raw material is used, the raw materials are required to be of good quality, no mildew, and no rotten ginger.

(2) Mixing: Before distillation, add 30% to 40% pure water to the ginger powder, mix well with water, and then distill into the tank. This will shorten the distillation time.

(3) Loading into the tank: The loading requirement is to keep the raw materials loose, not to be too tight and too compact, so that the raw materials have good gas permeability in the distillation tank. Furthermore, the distillation tank cannot be overfilled, and the feed liquid is preferably not more than 50%, and a certain steam hole is retained to facilitate distillation and increase distillation efficiency.

(4) Distillation: After the loading is completed, the steam is turned on, and the distillation temperature is controlled at about 100 °C. Distillate until the output liquid appears without oil.

(5) Separation and purification: During the distillation process, volatile ginger oil is distilled off together with water vapor. Because the specific gravity of volatile ginger oil is smaller than that of water, it floats on the water and can be separated by oil-water separator. The crude layer of ginger oil is obtained by discharging the water layer and receiving the oil layer. At this time, the charging rate of the distilled ginger oil can reach 2% to 3% of the weight of the dried ginger powder. The crude ginger oil contains some water and can be removed with a dehydrating agent. Otherwise, the distilled ginger oil is packaged and left for a period of time. A small amount of water will be deposited on the bottom of the container. If it is not treated, the water layer will become odor after storage for a period of time, thus affecting the quality of the volatile oil.
